Here’s a clue for creating healthy relationships: Make love the ONLY purpose for coming together – not guilt, obligation, shared diseases, or biological similarities. Love is a precious gift from our Creator – and it was intended for people who share an honest appreciation for one another.
Don’t pretend to have affection for people that you really don’t – and for God’s sake, don’t waste your time with them! Don’t go to parties or other social events “just to make an appearance.” Don’t spend time with relatives out of a sense of guilt or obligation. If you think you’re fooling them, you’re really not! The heart always knows who favors us and who doesn’t.
Love is the ONLY good reason for people to come together, and the only thing that will truly keep them together. Anything else is pretentious and ungainly. Restore balance to your life and joy to your heart by insisting that love be the only foundation in which to build relationships. Make love the priority in your relationships, not financial, social, or career gains.
After all, you are a perfect expression of God entitled to a life of love and joy! And that’s the way God will always see you! You are supposed to be happy and free from suffering. You are not here to pay dues, jump through hoops or prove you are worthy to God. You are here to experience the uniqueness of your own charcter and express all of the love and joy in your heart. Life is an adventure and you are supposed to be having fun with it!
A Prayer For Love
God is Love and I am love. I was created out of Spirit’s desire for Self-expression. I live in this wolrd as a representative of the Divine. Every person I meet holds the same status. We are all equally valuable to God.
Love permeates my awareness, fills my heart – and becomes the magnetic force that draws people into my life. I naturally attract kind and loving people. I draw into my experience people who are generous, affectionate, and demonstrative.
My relationships with others are founded in love and I respect. I recognize and honor the Divine in them. I see the value they bring to life. Wholeness and balance are at the center of my relationship with others. All of them are functional and joyful.
I love Spirit. I love myself – and I love all of humankind. Together we make up the full pictures of universal love. Thank you God for all the love that is in my life today – and for the gifts that others bring to my world. Amen.
